Are you a fan of premium outlet mall shopping? We Hawaii folk are too, which is why we have Waikele Premium Outlets, a mall for the budget conscious shopper! While you might not consider this souvenir shopping, many tourists come here for western apparel that costs more in their country. 55+ outlet stores from shoes to apparel, handbags and more. 3. Duke‘s Marketplace
Duke’s Marketplace is a hidden gem of Waikiki. With flea market type stalls, Duke’s Marketplace holds the vibe of the old International Marketplace before it was torn down for a luxury shopping mall. You’ll find some of the best Hawaii kitsch trinket souvenirs at bargain prices. From Jesus sandals to Hawaiian hula dashboard dolls, Hawaiian jewelry to Hawaiian shirts for dogs, hair weaving and muu’muu, you’ll get lost in a unique world of souvenir shopping here. One of my favorite spots and a great place to test out your haggling skills! Location: 5 Dukes Lane, Waikiki
Hours: Daily 9a – 11p
4. ABC Stores
Locally owned and operated, ABC stores are ubiquitous in Waikiki. They are stocked with everything for a tourist’s needs from beach needs, local snacks, toiletries and a ton of local souvenirs. I personally like the kitschy weirds stuff from Obama mints to cheap Hawaiian plumeria perfume, solar operated dashboard hula dolls and souvenir postcards . The standard gift souvenirs are there from Hawaiian cookies and macadamia nut candy to taro chips. You name it, they might have it.
Local snacks range from spam musubis to sushi and ahhhh,… poke, so you’ll get a quick fix of local ono faves! Prices are reasonable to cheap. A MUST.

5. Don Quijote
Don Quijote is a popular chain in Japan which sells everything from grocery, household products, skin care products, souvenirs and more! Don Quijote in Hawaii has its origins from being Holiday Mart and then changing names to finally being bought by the Japanese chain. Needless to say, it is a combination of a Japan-everything store to carrying a lot of Hawaii items and souvenirs as well.
Gear tip: I use an expandable tote from Amazon for my trips. I love that I can use it as a duffle and when I start buying souvenirs, it can be unzipped vertically to hold more! It’s cheap, so my inner pocket lining broke on my first trip, but the rest of the bag is durable.
